Hello sweet friends! I'm starting off with the number 10. Custom mosaic ceramic house numbers. I've been over on Etsy, and these are a few things I found. Do you have a herb garden? Here are ceramic herb garden markers, set of 4, with a gift bag. The 6 small copper enamel metal butterflies are fascinating to watch. Check out the video below to see them in action. Modernized Pottery has a half-gallon watering can for your indoor plants. Comes in 9 different colors. Loving the look.

My Favorite Picture of The Week...Sweet Hands
I'm loving this picture.
Grandma's sweet hands holding her grandchild. Hands that have served and cared for many in her life. Now holding and adoring this precious new life. The love and wisdom she must want to pass on to this child. A new generation, a legacy to live on.
Past, Present, Future
A tangible bridge between generations.

Grandma’s sweet hands, weathered with grace,
Trace every line of a newborn’s face.
Hands that have cooked, and cleaned, and sewn,
Now cradle a life she’s never known.
Fingers bent from years gone by,
Still soft as clouds in a summer sky.
Each wrinkle tells a tale once lived,
Of love she gave, of time she’d give.
She holds the child, so small, so new,
Eyes misted with a quiet view—
Of lullabies sung in a faded room,
Of garden beds in full, bright bloom.
A gentle pat, a whispered prayer,
Wisdom woven through the air.
She sees herself in tiny eyes,
A legacy time never denies.
And in that hold, so firm, so kind,
She passes on what stays behind—
A steadfast heart, a life well planned,
All written in her sweet, sweet hands.

My inspiration this week.

Picture of The Week

Blueberries, cream cheese, and maple syrup are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dinner.

12 slices of French bread or sourdough bread thin sliced (6 slices cut up into cubes)
2 8 oz. pkg of cream cheese
1 cup of blueberries
12 eggs
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
dash of nutmeg

For the sauce
1 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
1 cup of water
1 cup of blueberries
1 tablespoon butter

Arrange the bread in a buttered 13 x 9 inch pan; cut the cream cheese into squares and place over bread; sprinkle the blueberries over the cheese; arrange the bread cubes over the top of the blueberries.

In a large bowl mix the eggs, syrup, milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg whisk well pour the mixture over the bread mixture; chill the mixture overnight.

Bake at 350 for about an hour or till it is puffed and golden brown.

Sauce
In a small saucepan mix the water, sugar, cornstarch over moderately high heat until it is thickened, then add the blueberries. Simmer for about ten minutes or till blueberries burst then pour over French toast.

This recipe comes from a friend and co-worker, Sheri O'Neal. It is a dessert for breakfast and is so delicious. Sheri made it for a breakfast staff meeting. I believe we voted to have more of those types of meetings.

Note: I omit the sauce and exchange fresh blueberries for a can of blueberries or mixed berries to go right on top of the casserole. It provides the sweetness, and the sauce bakes into the casserole.

My Picture of the Week - Painted Easter Eggs

Painted Easter eggs are such a fun and colorful tradition!

The history of painted Easter eggs goes way back, centuries before they were associated with Easter as we know it today.

Here's a little breakdown of their journey through time:

Before Christianity, eggs were seen as a symbol of life and rebirth in many cultures.

In ancient Persia, eggs were painted and exchanged during Nowruz (the Persian New Year, which falls around the spring equinox) as a celebration of new life.

Early Christians adopted the egg as a symbol of the resurrection, just as a chick hatches from an egg, Jesus emerged from the tomb.

By the Middle Ages, Christians in Eastern Europe would paint eggs red to symbolize the blood of Christ.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, Easter eggs became popular among European nobility.

The Russian Tsars took it to another level with the Fabergé eggs—lavish jeweled eggs created by Peter Carl Fabergé for the royal family.

The tradition spread across Europe and to the Americas.

In modern Easter celebrations, painting eggs is now mostly a fun, creative activity tied to family, spring, and the Easter Bunny rather than strictly religious symbolism.

Plastic eggs filled with candy or toys have joined the mix, but real painted eggs remain a beloved classic.

My inspiration this week.

  • I visited Beth at Home Stories A to Z for the first time this week.  I believe a truly beautiful home is more than just a culmination of well-decorated spaces. "Home" is a reflection of the stories and personalities who fill it with life. She has a beautiful blog.

  • What am I reading this week, Southern Living Magazine. Always a favorite.

  • What am I loving this week. Black gutters. They just started installing them this week on my new home. It was a great color choice. It's like black eyeliner for the house. 😁

  • What was my favorite purchase this week, iRobot Roomba vacuum and mop combo. I have fur babies and I work full time. Vacuuming and mopping every evening is really not the way I want to spend my evenings. This has been a breeze, and my floors are clean!

  • This week I need to plan what I am serving for Easter Brunch. I think Cottage Cheese Pancakes may be one of the breakfast items. Years ago, I changed it up and went from Easter Dinner to Easter Brunch. I was inspired by my friend Darian, who started this tradition in her home. In years past, I've invited friends or just the family, and it has been a big hit. Now that I think about it, my friend Debbie, whom we lost to covid, used to fix a beautiful egg casserole for her Easter brunch. Which reminds me, what am I grateful for seeing Debbie's smile.
