A New Chapter Begins…
Hi, I’m Linda—Florida is home, and the Sunshine State has shaped much of my journey. I’ve been blogging for years, beginning with a simple goal: to share home-cooked recipes with friends and family. That small idea quickly blossomed into something much bigger.
My first blog grew beyond my expectations, but as technology evolved, the old platform couldn’t keep up. That’s when I launched a new site, Poinsettia Drive—a fresh space that combined my love of cooking with a curiosity for other lifestyle topics. It resonated, drawing over a million views.
But life has shifted again. Over the past year, my husband and I have started a brand-new chapter—building a new home, making a big move, and embracing a slower, more intentional lifestyle. With that shift came the feeling that it was time for a fresh start online as well.
The Story Behind the Name “Little Cypress Lodge”
The name holds deep personal meaning. Before construction began on our new home, we discovered a tiny cypress tree growing right where the driveway was planned. We couldn’t bear to disturb it, so we gently dug it up, brought it home, and began caring for it. It’s now thriving—and when the time is right, we’ll replant it back on the property.
During one of our visits to the new homestead, my husband and I were dreaming up landscaping ideas. I mentioned wanting a garden path like the one at my grandfather’s fishing lodge. In that moment, it hit me—his lodge was called Cypress Lodge. It felt like a perfect fit. We added a personal touch and named our home Little Cypress Lodge. And with that, the blog had its new identity too.
